my mom's best friends threw the bf (well i guess the FIANCE) and i an engagement party yesterday. it was beyond amazing on all levels. the details put martha to shame. all of the guests, including myself could not get over how beautiful and delicious everything was. my love of cooking and design is mainly due to these four women. i've known them my entire life, i've cooked with them my entire life and i continue to learn from them every day.

i am blessed

I'm intrigued by the 'compost cookies.' ;) All the food looks delightful!

they were la bomba! basically a really thin chocolate chip cookie with bits of potato chips, pretzels and nuts stuck on top. apparently there is a bakery in NY that sells these and people wait around the block to buy them. re-dick. but i guess worth it?!

Awesome. The hubs and I just decided on the theme of our annual Halloween bash: The Wicked Garden--these will be perfect with the Compost tea {aka potent sangria!}. mmm...chocolate chip cookies with salty ingredients sounds so yummy. Thanks a bunch! P.S. I'm crediting you when I post the party photos, cuz I am definitely making these. :)

Hey, me again! I made the compost cookies for my Halloween party, using the Nestle Tollhouse tried-and-true recipe on the package, and tweaking the ingredients to make them vegan {secretly!}, and added some natural tortilla chips and pretzels to the tops right as they came out of the oven, so they stuck well. They were yummy + very well received. Thanks again for sharing! I wrote about the party: http://getyourselfavirgo.blogspot.com/2010/11/our-halloween-party-continued.html
if you wanna check it out.
Take care! :)
