truly blessed
life is good. i see and feel my blessings all around. thankful is an understatement.
my good friend ken invited me to go to the grammy's with him tonight. his sister karen is the vp of def jam/island records. she gave him two tickets and he passed the love on to me. surreal is an understatement. i've watched the grammy's for as long as i can remember. i'm a music lover and have been my whole life. to sit in a room with so many greats...and see performances of my dreams was unreal.
aretha franklin, tina turner, ringo star, stevie wonder, cindy lauper, herbie hancock, alicia keys, john tesh..up close and personal...just joking but i DID see him too close for comfort...30lbs. of makeup and all, beyonce, kanye...the list goes on. i tried my hardest to be in the moment and soak everything in so i remember it for the rest of my life.
rihanna was handpicked by ken's sister for def jam and when she won tonight she gave a shout out to karen. so rad. so rad for a women who is KILLING it in a male dominated field. so rad for ken to hear his sister's name and know she made it. so rad for me to be a part of the history.
thank you thank you thank you to life for handing me so many opportunities and good people that make everything more fun and worthwhile.
