5.8 quake!

boy did i feel it! just as it started, i was picking up a glass of water. i spilled it and realized the ground was moving...big time. i walked to my kitchen and saw the chandler swaying and my kitchen cabinets opening. then bang, bang. pictures fell off the walls. at this point i decided i MIGHT want to stand in a doorway. the quake was pretty long and i've felt two aftershocks since, but all is well on the long beach front. hopefully that's it's for now.

611 N.Fairfax Ave , LA ,90036 , on thursday July 31, at 10:15 pm , as part of the Don't Knock the Rock film festival. The film features electrifying performances from Ranking Joe, U-Roy, Sister Nancy , Sugar Minott , Brigadier Jerry ,and many more, as well as interviews exploring the history of Soundsystem Reggae and its role in the creation of Hip Hop. There will be a live performance by the Echodelic Soundsystem with special guests in the theater following the screening.
