bird herdler

i have an idea....

this wall has been giving me grief ever since we moved in. it's big, it's beige and it's boring. no headboard (i'm picky as hell and can't find one i can afford/like) so i've been contemplating painting it. then this past weekend while my sister was visiting, she gave me a good idea...bird prints. old, trippy bird prints. random bird prints. we're both intrigued by birds and have quite an assortment living around my house.

so here's what i've found so far via etsy:

birds on linen

fork tailed flycatcher

rufous hummingbird

flamingo

baltimore oriole

great blue heron

and while i'm at it, i mind as well pick up this dress to stay in theme while laying on my bed

so anyway....we'll see how this pans out. i have a lot of ideas and about 40% of them come to fruition.

just sayin....

i am a craigslist junkie and see SOOOO much amazing furniture in my area daily. if i had a 5000 sq. ft. house to decorate, i'd be stoked. deals galore for many items i don't need in my current space but they're such a bargain...and the design! the design!

i'm constantly sending the bf postings of this credenza, or that chair...or check out this amazing lamp! i want to start a green design business where i furnish ONLY with used pieces and for a price that speaks to the pocket.

just brainstorming. i need a "first client" to get the ball rolling. someone who appreciates my style and would let me shine. takers inquire within. my first job could be pro-bono.

it's amazing

what a fresh dye job can do for a person. yesterday i saw a recent picture of me in black and white and hot damn, my roots were out of control. then this am while i was working at my desk, a hair fell off my head and landed in front of me. it was half brown and half blond. i immediately called 911, or my hair colorist Erin as she's known to most, and booked myself for her next opening. thank god it was this evening.

so now i'm back to my blond self and feeling fine. even the bf noticed when i walked in the door tonight. he immediately told me i looked hot, especially my hair. (he didn't know my secret).

and this amazing picture of blond bombshell Jane Mansfield was found on a lovely blog i highly suggest you paroose- i love retro things. i'm always impressed with her finds. this picture is a fine example of one.

city slicker

back in the bay area...week 2 of work. week 2 of gorgeous weather. unbelievable really this late into october.

i'm staying in SOMA...21st floor this round. i used to spend some serious time in this city 6 years ago. i lived in monterey for 3 years but spent almost every weekend in sf where my friends and the action was. my plan was to move to sf after my stint in Mo. town, but love took me south. now that i'm back, i'm finding my love for the city is strong as ever.

(a little green roof action below my hotel window)

Yesterday i rolled down to the Los Gatos/Santa Cruz mts. to visit my sister on her vineyard. amongst the vines, she's also got a bangin garden and hens...all with names of course. the ladies are molting but dropping eggs left and right. check these beauties out! i can't wait to have a coup myself.

so as you can tell, i'm getting my city and country livin fixes. heaven for sure.
