living art
those that know me, know my love for all things succulent. when i first came across a living art piece very similar to this in Sunset mag, i thought i had died and gone to heaven. i've finally discovered where this insanely beautiful art came from....Flora Grubb Gardens. this piece in particular has caught my eye with the lovely driftwood looking frame. what a dream. i'm hooked on these and now hooked on Flora's blog. well done!
everybody wants it!!
The 34-year-old mom replied, “It’s my attitude! Everybody wants it. It’s work. I have very, very thick hair, so it’s not going to work for everybody. I’ve seen people come through the book line with thin hair and it just won’t work. My hair stylist gets calls from all across the country.”
no kate, everyone does not want it. that haircut is fucked up. it makes me angry. i start to twitch when i see it. i could care less about your personal life but that hair has to go. the mid-west mom/backwards mullet/victoria beckham wanna be is making me consider extreme measures. just handle it and let's move on.
thanks.

USPS gets hip
just bought these yesterday. i seriously haven't bought stamps in 100 years since i do all of my banking online and sadly mostly emailing. the art of the letter writing is disappearing and these stamps have inspired me get back on that pony express. the recipients will be important and the notes will be sweet.
>LOVE<
kimchi qusedillas?? oh my!
recently learned about the kogi taco truck, rolling around LA. they're putting a new spin on the old standards...Korean stylee.
take this tasty taco-
Korean Short Ribs
This is our signature taco. We get the best trimmings of short ribs we can find, let it swim in our own special marinade, and chop it nice and small so the flavors just dance on your taste buds. Once on the grill, the fat melts away to create that soft and tender texture everyone loves and the sugars just caramelize to give the meat that deep and savory flavor. This is the Kogi crowd favorite.
All out tacos are topped with:
* sesame-chili salsa roja
* julienne romaine lettuce and cabbage tossed in Korean chili-soy vinaigrette
* cilantro-green onion-lime relish
* crushed sesame seeds
* sea salt
* garnished with lime wedge, orange wedge and red radish wedge
get yer asses down to long beach kogi!!!! i'm hungry.

wish i had a picture for you....
but i ate it all. dinner last night and leftovers for today's lunch. DAMN good. (i only used one salmon filet and eyeballed the ingredients and it turned out divine. the flavor combos are on point.)
ASIAN SALMON SANDWICHES
Ingredients
• 1/4 cup brown sugar
• 1/4 cup soy sauce
• Six 5-ounce salmon fillets, bones and skin removed
• 6 chibatta rolls
• 1 avocado...or more if you're crazy like me
• Asian chili sauce (rooster ya hear?!)
• Mayonnaise
• Coarse salt
• 1 lime, halved
• 1 large carrot, grated
• Cilantro sprigs, to taste
1. Preheat the oven to 400°. In a medium bowl, whisk together the brown sugar and soy sauce. Add the salmon and turn to coat.
2. Foil-line a 9-by-13-inch glass baking dish so you don't have to scrub the hell out of it later. Arrange the salmon in the dish, drizzle with the remaining marinade and roast until cooked through, 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool for about 20 minutes.
3. Split the rolls in half lengthwise and spread each half with chili sauce and mayonnaise to taste. Place a piece of salmon on the bottom half of each roll and sprinkle with salt and a squeeze of lime juice. Top with some of the grated carrots, avocado and a few sprigs of cilantro. Cut that baby in half and ENJOY.
i do not remember where i found this gem, so no credit given here....but then again, i altered it a bit so i guess it's mine now.
